The Shag is a signature pet trim designed by Jodi Murphy. Back in the late 1960’s and 1970’s the Shag was very popular and was a style worn by the famous mom of the Brady Bunch, Florence Henderson. A longer version was popularized by the famous Farrah Fawcett.
This was a style where the hair was cut shortest on top transitioning into longer layers. There are many long coated breeds like the Shih Tzu, Maltese, and Yorkshire Terrier, to name a few, that require a shorter haircut for easy maintenance. However, the pet owner often prefers a longer style. The Shag is the perfect alternative. This little trim is layered with snap-on combs as well as thinning shears. Jodi left an Asian flare to the legs creating bell bottoms and beveled feet. This is a versatile trim that can be used on any long drop-coated breed.
